Capella University
Degree:
Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology
Cara believes therapy works best when it feels like a real, human connection. She values authenticity, humility, and genuineness. Her style is warm, grounded, and collaborative; she sits with clients and brings a blend of curiosity, compassion, and humor to sessions. She works with children, teens, and adults navigating various emotions such as anxiety, grief, life transitions, complex traumas, relationship stress, and the everyday challenges of being human.
Cara draws from Gestalt therapy, CBT, parts-work (IFS-informed), and trauma-responsive approaches to help clients develop insight, reconnect with themselves, and build the tools they need to move forward. She tailors her interventions to each client’s strengths, pace, and lived experiences.
Before entering the mental health field, Cara spent over a decade in education. This experience shaped her belief that every person has the capacity to grow when they feel understood, supported, and empowered. Clients often share that they feel comfortable with her right away and that she provides a space where they find it easy to talk and express themselves.
Cara’s goal is to walk with clients as they discover new ways to heal, cope, and thrive.
