Dr. Misty Hatch is a Nationally Board-Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Indiana and Illinois. She received a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from nationally accredited programs. Dr. Hatch has practiced, supervised, researched, and taught in a variety of areas related to mental health and wellness. She has experience working with individuals and groups on issues such as substance use, grief, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, the veteran population, the corrections population, and intimate partner violence.
Dr. Hatch has clinical experience in various settings and with diverse populations, including incarcerated adults, crisis intervention, structured outpatient substance use programs, and nonprofit organizations. In her practice, Dr. Hatch uses a diverse approach and a trauma-informed lens when working with her clients. She often draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Dr. Hatch is an Assistant Professor at Valparaiso University in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate program. She is also a certified yoga instructor (RYT-200) through Yoga Alliance and teaches trauma-informed yoga. She has presented nationally and internationally on the role of yoga in trauma and counseling.
Dr. Hatch’s clinical interests and focus areas include the veteran population, substance use disorder, intimate partner violence, trauma, and grief.
