Kelsey Brewer is a graduate of Valparaiso University, where she received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Kelsey has clinical experience in a range of different settings and with varied populations, including a treatment center for autism and neurodevelopmental disorders, a university counseling center, and a residential treatment facility for adolescents. She integrates techniques and approaches, primarily drawing from Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She often utilizes strengths-based and mindfulness-based approaches.

Kelsey believes in creating a safe and affirming space to process experiences while developing a sense of empowerment and hope. She believes that different stages of life come with different needs and that self-improvement is a lifelong process. She says, “I truly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship. Having a neutral person with an outside perspective who meets you where you’re at can be such a powerful thing.”

Kelsey’s clinical interests and focus areas include adolescents and young adults with anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injury, trauma, grief, and identity development. She is also an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist.
