I look forward to meeting you! I am a College Counselor who specializes in Neurodivergence including Specific Learning Disorders and ADHD which I write a weekly blog for Pillars of Wellness. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages (14-75) experiencing difficulty with executive functioning skills (like time management, organization, procrastination/task initiation, emotional regulation), career indecisiveness/exploration/planning, and general life transitions.
I have consistently been very eclectic with interest in Cognitive Behavioral and DBT as my main bases for therapeutic support, however, am flexible in my approach recognizing that each individual does not benefit from a "cookie-cutter approach". The best therapy is the one that is focused on the individual across from the therapist. As a Therapist, I attempt to provide an environment for growth. Growth can only occur when a person feels comfortable and safe. Within this environment, a person can be challenged taking steps to achieve personal goals. Sometimes identifying life goals can even be a challenge and need for recognition of what these steps in a person's life journey may be difficult. Through empathy, compassion, understanding and a willingness to meet the person where they are, I strive to provide a safe place where the person can explore personal thoughts, behaviors, actions, feelings, and goals in their life journey. No matter where you are in your journey, there is a time, place, and reason. I hope to meet you in the near future.
