About the Program
The Rapid Relief Intervention (RRI) Program at Pillars of Wellness is a Community Intervention model designed to function like "urgent care outpatient" for acute emotional distress. RRI provides immediate, low-intensity mental health support for individuals and groups experiencing acute stress symptoms following a recent crisis or trauma.
We can travel onsite to facilities that have experienced a recent crisis or trauma, using the ASSYST protocol to reduce acute stress symptoms for their staff, community members, patients, students, and others affected. RRI can also be delivered in-office or via telehealth for individual clients who need rapid stabilization but may not be ready for or do not require long-term therapy.
Using trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches including bilateral stimulation techniques (ASSYST method), our clinicians help clients regulate their nervous system, reduce acute symptoms, and develop practical coping skills that can be applied immediately. Many clients report symptom relief as soon as their first session.

Short-Term Symptom Relief & Stabilization
Individuals who use the ASSYST method (bilateral stimulation sets to regulate the nervous system through eye movements, butterfly tapping, knee tapping, and marching) have seen more significant impact on their anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms compared to standard methods. Many individuals experience relief as soon as one session with the ASSYST method used in the RRI program.

This program may also support individuals needing short-term stabilization before transitioning into ongoing therapy or other services.

Community Intervention & Onsite Support
RRI works like urgent care outpatient, but for mental health. It's a Community Intervention model. When a facility, school, workplace, or community experiences a recent crisis or trauma, our clinicians can travel onsite to deliver the ASSYST protocol and reduce acute stress symptoms for everyone affected.
We can partner with:
- Healthcare facilities and hospitals: supporting staff and patients after critical incidents, medical trauma, or loss
- Schools and universities: supporting students, faculty, and staff after the death of a community member, a violent event, or a collective traumatic incident
- Workplaces and first responder agencies: supporting teams after on-the-job trauma, workplace incidents, or sudden loss of a colleague
- Community organizations, shelters, and faith communities: supporting community members after collective trauma or crisis events
