Education
- BS Neuroscience, MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Natalia Bak is an Associate Licensed Clinical Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical
Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University and a Bachelor of Science in
Neuroscience from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her background in neuroscience
informs her holistic view of therapy and her interest in how biology and lived experiences
together shape the way we think, feel, and relate to others.
Natalia has experience working with diverse and complex populations, including individuals in
correctional settings, where she developed a deep appreciation for approaching clients with
curiosity, compassion, and an understanding of the broader systems that shape their experiences.
Today, her clinical interests center on working with various clients, with particular
attention to family relationships, attachment, and the ways early experiences influence emotional
and behavioral patterns.
Natalia draws from psychodynamic, relational, attachment-based, and family systems
perspectives to explore the deeper experiences and relationships underlying presenting concerns.
She views therapy as a collaborative process that helps clients develop greater insight, strengthen
relationships, and create meaningful change.
She strives to provide a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients and
families feel understood, supported, and empowered to engage in the therapeutic process.
