Shelbi is a licensed mental health therapist and doctoral student in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Arizona. She earned her Master’s degrees in Sport Psychology from Capella University and Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from the Herron School of Art and Design. With ten years of experience working with diverse clients in both community mental health and private practice, Shelbi brings deep expertise in supporting athletes and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, and burnout.
Shelbi takes a person-centered approach to therapy, prioritizing the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for growth. She integrates her background in sport psychology, art therapy, and mental health counseling, incorporating cognitive-behavioral strategies, mindfulness, and creative interventions to help clients build emotional resilience and mental performance skills. Her clinical style emphasizes increased self-awareness, strengthened emotional regulation, and the development of intentional, values-driven behaviors.
As a competitive runner and high school cross-country and track coach, Shelbi has a particular passion for working with athletes, helping them strengthen both mental health and performance while maintaining overall well-being. She works with adolescents and adults, meeting each individual where they are with warmth, authenticity, and a deep commitment to meaningful change.
