Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Miranda is a dedicated, compassionate, and client-centered therapist who strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring both past and present experiences. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Purdue University Northwest and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Miranda works with teenagers, adults, and older adults, with particular focus on distress tolerance, women’s issues, disordered eating, life transitions, grief, and family-related challenges. She is passionate about working holistically and collaboratively, helping clients navigate periods of uncertainty with greater clarity and confidence.
Miranda uses an evidence-based, strengths-based approach, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while integrating techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Reality Therapy. Her work focuses on identifying core beliefs and patterns, increasing emotional awareness, and building practical, sustainable coping strategies that clients can use outside of session. She works alongside clients to reframe challenges, foster resilience, and support meaningful, lasting change. Miranda believes therapy is most effective when the client’s voice, goals, and autonomy are truly valued.
With experience in both school-based and community mental health settings, Miranda provides culturally responsive care and strives to empower clients as they develop new ways of coping, relating, and growing. Above all, she prioritizes creating a welcoming, affirming environment where clients feel supported not only during sessions, but also as they carry positive change into their everyday lives.
