A Quiet Thanks: Why I’m Grateful to Work at Pillars

By Ashley Earle, LMHC

I’m not someone who typically shares much about myself or my work. I tend to keep my head down, stay focused, and let the work speak for itself! But as I look back over the past few years, I’ve realized just how meaningful my time at Pillars has been, and I want to take a moment to share that.

When I started working at Pillars, I was feeling a bit lost; not knowing if I was a good therapist, or if I was really making a difference in the mental health field. Our leadership team really saw potential in my strengths, leading me down a path where I could not only make a difference with clients, but also within the operations of the agency. This path has led me to very meaningful roles that I would not have ever imagined when I first started.  I was trusted by them before I fully trusted myself, and that’s something I won’t forget!

What’s made the biggest difference for me is the leadership at Pillars. The trust they’ve placed in me has been steady and sincere. I’ve been encouraged to take on new responsibilities, lead projects, oversee teams, and build systems from the ground up that support both our clients and our team. I’ve never felt like I needed to have all the answers, just that I was allowed to keep learning and that my voice was welcome in the room.

I’ve also been lucky to work with people who genuinely care, not just about the work, but about doing it in a thoughtful, ethical, and human way. There’s a lot of integrity that runs through this place. People don’t always make a show of it, but you see it in the way they support clients, the way they step up for each other, and the way they handle challenges with care. For me, this matters! What I value is being part of something that feels real, something that aligns with how I want to show up in the world. Pillars has given me space to do that.

So this post isn’t about a title or a single accomplishment necessarily. It’s just a quiet thank you. To the leadership that’s trusted me. To the coworkers who’ve shown up alongside me. To the clients who allow us into their lives in such honest, vulnerable ways. And to the agency that’s given me the chance to do work that feels aligned with who I am.

Thank you
