Overview

I often joke that I became a psychologist because I was a failed telepath. As a child, I was fascinated by the unseen—how thoughts, emotions, and beliefs move people toward health or suffering. While I never learned to read minds, that curiosity matured into a career focused on understanding human systems: psychological, relational, organizational, and increasingly, technological.

Today, my work sits at the intersection of clinical psychology, organizational leadership, and applied artificial intelligence. I am less interested in diagnosing what is broken and more invested in building environments—clinical, corporate, and digital—that reliably support human flourishing.

Clinical & Systems Perspective

My clinical training is grounded in evidence-based psychological practice, but my professional focus has expanded toward systems-level impact. I believe mental health outcomes are shaped as much by structures, workflows, and tools as they are by individual insight.

Across my work, I integrate biological, psychological, and meaning-based frameworks while maintaining a strong commitment to ethical, data-informed care. This perspective has guided both my clinical leadership and my interest in how emerging technologies—particularly AI—can responsibly support, rather than replace, human judgment and relational care.

Leadership & Innovation

I am a co-founder of Pillars of Wellness, a multi-site behavioral health organization serving individuals, families, and communities. In addition to direct care, I oversee program development, clinician training pathways, quality assurance, and the integration of technology into clinical workflows.

Recent initiatives include:

  • Launching and scaling specialty programs (eg maternal mental health services)
  • Designing leadership and administrative pathways for clinicians
  • Developing AI-enabled tools to support documentation, decision-making, and clinician sustainability
  • Consulting with organizations on workforce psychology, leadership selection, and human-centered system design

My current research and innovation interests focus on resilience, human-in-the-loop AI, ethical augmentation of clinical judgment, leadership development and the long-term cognitive and emotional impacts of offloading mental labor to intelligent systems.

Professional Background

My career has spanned addiction treatment, outpatient and residential care, executive consulting, and organizational psychology. This breadth allows me to translate clinical insight into scalable programs and policy-relevant frameworks.

Personal Note

Outside of my professional roles, I am a husband and a father of four. Living inside the realities of family life has shaped my appreciation for mental health not as an abstract ideal, but as something deeply practical, embodied, and constrained by real-world demands.

If you are interested in collaboration, research, systems-building, or thoughtful applications of psychology and technology, I welcome the conversation.
