Education

School:

Indiana University South Bend

Degree:

Master of Social Work

Alexa is a Licensed Social Worker with several years of experience in community mental health and higher education. Born in Mexico, Alexa is able to provide services in Spanish—or Spanglish for those who switch between the two languages—to any Hispanic individual seeking this. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Mary’s College and later pursued her Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University South Bend.

Alexa works with tweens through emerging adults who may be seeking support along their personal journeys. She recognizes that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process and makes an effort to meet each individual where they are. Many of the individuals Alexa has previously worked with are survivors of interpersonal violence, those experiencing other forms of trauma, or individuals navigating relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, or LGBTQ+-related concerns.

Alexa often utilizes empowerment theory, trauma-informed care, and multicultural approaches. She recognizes that difficulties can arise from many areas of life and is honored to walk alongside her clients throughout their journeys.
