The Anger Management Program at Pillars of Wellness provides structured, evidence-based support for individuals seeking to develop healthier emotional regulation, communication skills, and conflict resolution strategies. Our program empowers clients with emotional awareness, practical tools, and improved relationships—both personal and professional.

Whether you’re navigating court-ordered requirements, workplace conflicts, or personal relationship challenges, our trauma-informed clinicians provide a judgment-free environment where clients can learn evidence-based skills including CBT, mindfulness-based approaches, and anger management techniques that create lasting change.

Who This Program Supports

This program is ideal for adults (18+) who:

  • Want to better manage anger, frustration, or emotional outbursts
  • Have experienced conflict at work, home, or in relationships due to anger
  • Are required to complete anger counseling by a court, legal system, or employer
  • Are seeking practical skills for emotional regulation and healthier communication

  • Individuals
  • Small groups (up to 8 participants)
  • Staff teams through organizational partnerships

What You Can Expect

The Anger Management Program provides structured, skills-based support delivered in a culturally inclusive, trauma-informed, judgment-free environment.

Each session includes:

  • A grounding or mindfulness warm-up
  • Psychoeducation on the week’s topic
  • Guided open discussion
  • Coping tools clients can use immediately
  • Optional worksheets/resources

8-Week Curriculum

Session 1: Understanding Anger — Explore what anger is, short-term payoffs vs. long-term consequences
Session 2: How We Respond to Anger — Identify triggers and understand reactive habits
Session 3: Anger Control Plans — Develop personalized strategies and calming tools
Session 4: The Aggression Cycle — Learn the three-phase aggression cycle and progressive muscle relaxation
Session 5: Cognitive Restructuring — Explore how thoughts influence emotions using the A-B-C-D Model
Session 6: Assertiveness Training — Differentiate communication styles and build assertiveness skills
Session 7: Conflict Resolution Model — Learn step-by-step techniques for solving problems
Session 8: Anger and the Family — Examine family dynamics and identify healthier responses
