ILL Group Facilitator – Shelter Services Therapist (Hybrid)
Description

Pillars of Wellness is expanding its services across Illinois through partnerships with local shelters. We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Shelter Services Therapist to join our team in a hybrid role.

This clinician will provide:

  • Remote individual therapy sessions (telehealth)
  • On-site group therapy services within partner shelter locations across Illinois

This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver trauma-informed care directly to underserved populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, and substance use challenges, while maintaining a flexible outpatient caseload.

This position also qualifies as a Center of Excellence (CoE) role, offering clinicians the opportunity to specialize in shelter-based services, contribute to program development, and grow into leadership within this service line.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate on-site group therapy sessions at partnered shelter locations throughout Illinois
  • Provide individual therapy remotely via telehealth for clients referred through shelter partnerships
  • Utilize evidence-based, trauma-informed practices to support clients experiencing:
    • Homelessness
    • Domestic violence
    • Substance use
    • Complex mental health needs
  • Collaborate with shelter staff and community partners to ensure coordinated, holistic care
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards
  • Adapt therapeutic approaches to meet the diverse and evolving needs of shelter populations
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing program development
Qualifications
  • Fully licensed or associate-level clinician (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or equivalent)
  • Must hold an active Illinois (IL) license (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Experience working with trauma, homelessness, domestic violence, or substance use preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in non-traditional and community-based settings
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to culturally competent, person-centered care
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
