What You Can Expect
Group therapy at Pillars of Wellness is designed to provide emotional support, personal growth, and skill development through connection with others. Each group is led by a trained mental health clinician and may include co-facilitators or interns under supervision.
Key benefits include:
- Peer Support: Share experiences and feel seen by others who understand
- Diverse Perspectives: Learn from other members’ insights and coping strategies
- Skill Building: Practice communication, emotional regulation, and self-awareness
- Affordability: Group rates are typically lower than individual therapy, making care more accessible
Each group is tailored to a specific topic or population. Visit our Events Calendar for details on current offerings.

Common Questions
Q: What should I expect from group therapy?
A: Expect a structured and supportive environment where you can share experiences, learn from others, and work on your goals with the guidance of a trained therapist.
Q: Can I trust that what I share will remain confidential?
A: Yes. Co-facilitators are bound by confidentiality, and all group members are expected to uphold a shared agreement to protect each other’s privacy.
Q: What if I don’t want to share or speak in the group?
A: That’s completely okay. You’ll never be forced to speak—participation happens at your own pace.
Q: How do I provide feedback or support to others in the group?
A: Supportive statements like “I hear you,” “That resonates with me,” or “Thank you for sharing” go a long way in creating connection and empathy.
Q: What if I disagree with someone in the group?
A: Disagreements are a normal part of group dynamics and can be navigated respectfully. Facilitators are trained to guide those conversations with care.
Q: What if I feel nervous about not knowing anyone?
A: That’s a common feeling. Many group members are just as nervous their first time. Most people report feeling more at ease after their first session.
Q: What can I expect from the group?
A: Each group is a little different. We recommend reading the group description on the calendar and calling our office with any questions. We’re happy to help you decide if it’s a good fit.
